Dan The Man

In Memoriam

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved “Dan the Man”. Born in Taiwan in 2010, Dang Dang was fortunate enough to be rescued by the Reich family in October of 2011. After traveling to the U.S. by plane, he quickly settled into his new home in Seaville and was quickly loved by his new family. Assumed by most that he was a lab or golden retriever, Dan was actually part Formosan Mountain dog (Taiwan street dog), retriever and rottweiler, which was on his grandfather’s side.

In November of 2017, he joined the team at Reich Asset Management and has worked tirelessly for the past 7 years as a senior executive, office greeter, client emotional support dog, Chief Chicken Officer, and current owner of his Stable Biscuit Fund. These many hats earned him perpetual Employee of the Month. Never wanting to take a day off, he was often annoyed if Eric wasn’t at work on a Saturday or when we had to work from home for 2 months in the early part of the 2020 pandemic. To say he was dedicated to Reich Asset Management is an understatement, as he still came to work even when his family was on vacation or away for the day. In his early years at the office, he could be spotted doing zoomies, sleeping in multiple beds, and welcoming clients. During his latter years at the office, Dan thoroughly enjoyed his extended breaks laying outside in the parking lot and refusing to come inside. He also enjoyed incessantly barking to go outside multiple times especially if Eric was out of the office. He has brought so much joy and laughter to the office and our clients have grown to love Dan just as much as his family and coworkers do. In fact, some of the firm’s clients have a hard time recalling our names, but they always know who Dan is. 😊 In addition, he rose to TV fame by appearing in the firm’s commercials.

Outside of the office, Dan enjoyed spending time with his family, stealing blankets, rolling around in the grass or his multiple beds, working security at the Reich Resort, and extended stays at the Mahoney B&B. He loved a good walk and good luck trying to get him to come in from being outside. He had an extreme love of rotisserie chicken and whipped cream.

We are extremely grateful for all of the love that has been shown to Dan and for all of the love he has given us. He is survived by and will be greatly missed by his wonderful family, dad Eric, mom Chrissy and his human siblings CJ, Cooper, and Riley, his Nan and Pop, Nanny and Grandad, and extended family, his co-workers Amy, Kyle, who he loved to supervise, Janna, and Jodie, and his favorite squeaks-his briefcase Brown Squeak, his assistant Tina, who almost didn’t survive the summer of 2020, detail Orange Squeak, Frog, and Duck.
